Things We Don’t Talk About Film *REVIEW*

“Things We Don’t Talk About” is a groundbreaking 72-minute documentary by award-winning filmmaker Dr. Isadora Gabrielle Leidenfrost that shows how the Red Tent, a red fabric space is empowering women. The film documents the things women hide, the things that bring them pain and joy, and for many it is a place to be honest for the first time in their life. “Things We Don’t Talk About” seeks to humanize the stories in the red tent—to put a face on the space.

I was privileged to be able to take part in this experience a couple weeks ago, thanks to Amy from the Wild Wisdom Keepers on facebook. I had heard of this before so I was excited to finally have something like this available to go to where I live! I went thinking I would enjoy the film and leave their feeling good about it.

While I did enjoy the film, I had no idea just how inspired and empowered I would be when I left the screening! I was so happy to be a woman! The red tent gives us a place for our stories to be told. It shows us our traditions that we, as woman have lost. It shows us that we must not compete with one another but instead to lift each other up and to come as yourself is enough!

If you have the opportunity to attend a screening or purchase this film… PLEASE DO SO! It’s AMAZING!
